Spiralofvertigo Day 1

Hey everyone! I have been following Art Slam for a few years now but have never participated before. I'm very excited to see how far I get and hopefully I make it to the end and possibly beyond the one month goal I have for myself.

I'm going to be drawing up some alien fauna from a world I have been illustrating from for a very long time now.

I have a plan of having a rotating theme of air; land and sea creatures. So first day is land tomorrow will be air and then sea and so on.

Up first is a land creature called a Glass Crest. I wanted to at LEAST finish one image for my first so this is very likely a lot more polished than my other stuff is going to be haha.




Glass Crest are liquid feeders; they don't eat any solid food. They are omnivores and are most happy feeding off of seeds of a certain type of plant seen in the image here.

That's all for the first day! I am having a lot of fun so far and I am very excited to see what you all come up with for your challenges!

That is so cool! And fascinating! And now I want to know all about this world and the life forms that populate it. I'll look forward to seeing more!

Thank you! I will be illustrating a ton of critters from this world this month (and possibly further if I get that far). So there will be plenty to see!

Wow, that's great work, both on design and realisation. I really like the volume you added with line weight, folds and ridges.
